Problems with my (formerly) shared external USB drives (F5-221)

Hi there,
This has been a really nice product so far for me, almost as good as my Synology device and way cheaper. Nice work!
I do however have a slight problem with external USB drives attached to the TerraMaster F5-221.
As of the last time I updated my NAS (running latest version) I can no longer:
1. Access my external USB drives that were previously running fine and shared via SMB and NFS to my Linux/Windows devices.
2. Cannot edit the Shared Folder permissions for my external USB drives.
I tried editing the smb.conf directly on the device but that made no difference. I basically used the same configuration as the main RAID array running on the 5 drives in the TerraMaster and is shared fine to my Linux, Apple and Windows devices.
PLEASE HELP!!
Richard
