Doubts with D2-310

Hello.
Sorry if this is not the right place but I can't find the information I need. I have an F2-221 and would like to expand to put more hard drives. I like the D2-310, without raid, but I have a few questions:
- Can it be connected directly to the USB of the TNAS?
- Would I have to format the disks?
- Would the TOS5 file manager recognize them as Usbshare1/2?
