I purchased several 5 bay units and I'm running 4.2.39 for the TOS version. What have you guys done to the firewall? It simply does not work, and does not abide by any forwarding rules. In fact, I can't even forward a range of ports because there is no option to do so, only "All ports". So at this point, these NAS units are useless and I'm wondering if I should just ship them back to TerraMaster? If I can't set up OpenVPN and forward the proper port, then I'll just go back to Synology which doesn't suffer from these issues.

The built-in firewall does not support port forwarding feature. You can set the port forwarding rules on your router.
