Performance issues after updating to TOS 5

Hello,
I am have the following:
TERRAMASTER F5-221 NAS Storage 5Bay - Apollo J3355 Dual Core 2.0GHz 4GB Memory
TOS Version: 5.0.150.00196
TERRAMASTER D5-300 USB3.1 (Gen1) Type C 5-Bay External Hard Drive Enclosure (plugged into the above)
TERRAMASTER F4-220 NAS Storage 4Bay 4.0GHz 2GB Memory TOS Version: 5.0.150.00196
TERRAMASTER D5-300 USB3.1 (Gen1) Type C 5-Bay External Hard Drive Enclosure (plugged into the above)
I have 5 USB drives plugged into the above along with the TERRAMASTER D5-300 USB3.1.
Ever since I have installed the TOS 5 OS I have been having performance issues along with not being able to give permissions to domain user's the the USB drives.
I went into ever area of permissions and added them, but they never stay.
USB are duplicating them selves per the attachment. USB1 shows up twice. does not go away after removing and re-adding.
