I have installed TOS5 official software on my F2-421 however Plex is missing from the app centre and am unable to install it manually.
Please advise

Hi, Maybe you should try to find it in "All" instead of "Recommanded" on App Center. Or clean the cache on browser and find again.

Cleared cache and it has indeed appeared and I have installed plex successfully
however
Its a very old version of plex in TOS5 of v1.24
As soon as I run plex from the TNAS, plex is informing me that th elatest version is 1.27
Ive tried to install 1.27 manually using the teramaster version from the plex downloads website but it fails at 99% with an error essage of "incorrect file".
Any chance you can make 1.27 available in the app centre?

Plex does not release a new version for TOS 5 yet. The plex for TOS 4.2.x could not run on TOS 5.

Meanwhile, or forever, you can put it into a docker container. That's how I did it.

I managed to get plex working fine (so far) using Plex 1.24 thats in the TOS5 app centre. Turned off the repeating plex notifications to update

Just to mention it: while Plex 1.24 is working, of course, when setting up a docker container you can take care of updates by yourself. But this is a bit of pain and I just recently got it working for Synology without always losing my database. On TerraMaster I don't know yet how to do it safely
