TOS Update 4.2.30 stuck on "Loading..." for over 2 Hours
I'm thinking of rebooting the device, but don't want to interrupt anything. Currently the NAS is unresponsive from the network otherwise.
Any suggestions?

Well ... no reply so I went ahead and rebooted. Still can't access the device, however it is doing something because the OneDrive Sync job seems to be syncing files even though I can't log into the TAS admin screen or access the device via the network.
Since I have backups, perhaps I'll just send it in under a warrantee issue.

The Terramaster staff are based in China.
It is the middle of the night there, that is why you have not had an answer.
I did not reply to your question because I do not want to cause you data loss.
If it was me, I would have rebooted.
I would then have reinitialised the unit, though that was before I found out you can restart nginx, via a terminal session, which may get you the admin interface back.

Thanks for the info ... so far the device is on the network and the router has assigned it an IP address, but nothing is accessible. Even the TNAS Desktop app can't find it. Guess I'll wait until someone from support is available ... glad I at least had backups so I'm not dead in the water.

Thanks for the info, I have some more questions ...
- #1 What happens if the machine was rebooted? I waited for hours already and figured the device was hung. I was told in a message from the start that it should take about 20 minutes.
- #2 In the article it says "if the RAID capacity is too large, the first detection will take a relatively long time". What does "too large" mean?
Waiting 2 days is extremely unreasonable, if I didn't have backups to use, I would be in serious trouble ... at a minimum a user should be informed as to the status of the recovery instead of simply showing a "Loading" message. Just waiting and "hoping" something is actually happening is absurd.
Is it possible to terminal into the machine using SSH or something to see the status of things?
Thanks

thanks, that's helpful
For what it's worth, I have a separate device that updated just fine too ... not that it's relevant

I tried to terminal into the device using PuTTY and the instructions at
viewtopic.php?f=75&t=2350
I just get a "connection refused" error. Not sure if that's meaningful or not.

Please make sure your NAS has SSH enabled and you have entered the correct port of SSH.
