Sorry mate,
its a tnas f5-422 with 5 10tb ironwolf hdd's in a raid5 with a total of 12gb ram
tnas version 4.2.18-2110301149

i dont expect it to transfer the files at 400mb a second like large files, but it seems to lock up if its dealing with large folders and small transfers or just large transfers of small files

How did you transfer your files? from your PC to your TNAS? or from TNAS to your PC? which file service you used? SMB? FTP?

Did you make any link aggregation on your LAN ports?

Here is a guide for troubleshooting, please verify your case by following this guide item by item.

using file explorer in windows 10, using 10gb ethernet to my switch then 10gb sfp+ to my pc, once the folder on the tnas got above 370,000 the transfers went from slow to stop, large files I get transfer rates above 400MBps and small files are fine until the nas has trouble with the number of files in a folder

Hi! When the copied files are too large or too many, it will take up more computer resources and CPU memory. Please check the performance of your computer.
