I have a F2-220 with two 5TB drives configured as Raid 1. I am currently using it solely as a Plex Media Server and it is functioning very well. Here's my question:

If one of the 5TB drives should fail what EXACTLY should I do to rebuild the raid?? I have identical 5TB drives available so is it as easy as simply removing the failed hard drive and replacing it with a new one and waiting for the raid to be rebuilt? Will this work? And do I need to power down the NAS when replacing the drive?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. If there are other steps necessary please explain in detail as this is the first time I am using a NAS and Plex. Thanks . . .

I would imagine that the procedure is the same as it is for D-Link:

This seems the most logical procedure to me. Perhaps support can confirm?

You should replace the failed drive with a new one and repair the RAID to rebuild it. Please be noted that the capacity of the new drive should be no less than the failed one. Since the TNAS supports hot swap, you can remove the failed one and insert the new one at power-on status.
