Hello,

I have disks with 5v current specified as 900 mA. So 5x0.9 = 4.5 A. It's big enough for PSU rated as 5V -- 15A.

My question is: does D5-300C use usb 5v power supply, or it has dc-dc converter 12 to 5, and fully self powered?

As the PSU is outputting 12V DC , it looks like its using 12V & 5V depending on the circuits and voltage reduces for the circuits as appropriate.

D5-300C does not use 5V from USB for power supply, but only for signal detection purposes.
