Plex not working

I have an issue with my plex. I performed an update of the app on the dashboard.
The icon then disappeared from the dashboard however it is still listed as installed when I search for it in Applications
I did notice that it said the service was stopped, I clicked on Start, it came back as operation successful, however it still says stopped.
I now cannot access Plex and I have a very unhappy 6 year old.
Can anyone advise on how to get this resolved quickly
