loss of free space after copying

How can it be that after successful copying by "USB Copy" a 2.5 TB data from a USB disk to my NAS Raid10, the WEB interface shows 2.08 TB, same time afp and smb show only 274+ GB? And lot of data is missing from the NAS. Where did the free NAS-disk space go?
