Failed to format

Just purchased the F5-221, had previously used a QNAP 4 bay, but was limited on the size of hard drives, and i was running out of space.
I purchased 4 x 14Tb Western Digital drives (WD140EDFZ-11A0VA0). All drives are brand new, tested before putting them into the F5-221. I also wanted to use a 500gb SSD as a cache drive.
For some reason the TNAS PC software won't detect the NAS, but was able to find on network, and get to first page.
Whatever configuration i choose, when it comes to formatting the drives, i always get the error "Failed to format RAID! Your hard drive system partitions may be abnormal. Please initialize your hard drives and try again."
I've seen somebody else in the forum reporting the same issue with 16tb drives. Is there a limit on the size of hard drives that can be used ?
