Internal USB Questions

Hello there.

I'm currently upgrading the RAM on both of my units which are F5-422-10gb & F5-221 units with an extra 4GB upgrades.

While I have the units opened, I noticed there are Two internal USB Ports, one is being used by the USB stick that came with the units, though the other internal USB port is left empty.

My question is this,...

Can we use the second Internal USB port, please see the image attached.

Image

the USB with the TOS installed was pluged into the top port and I noticed the second port below.

If we can make use of this Second USB port, what is the Maximum USB stick we are able to use?

I'm thinking of using it as a back-up option for my Phone or backing up images or data only.

Thanks

Hello,
For your model, you can perform this operation, they are equivalent to the external USB interface.

Thank you, for your reply TMRyan

So, I could even use a long USB 3.0 to SATA III Adapter for a 2.5" SSD cable with an SSD with this port?

Of course, I'd have to route the adapter outside the unit where I could attach an SSD,.. If I wanted too?

I don't believe I would do this, but the option is there if I ever decided or needed to,

This is great news and I believe I'll just be sticking a 256GB MINI USB device into the port.

Thanks again, TMRyan
