100% CPU usage

I have the F4-210 NAS. Lately the CPU usage has been 100%. A process called vrcuvbvuechngq2 is taking up 60% or more of the CPU. Sometimes 80%. Another process called php-fpm is taking up the rest. Sometimes I see pidof too. But the main cultrpit is vrcuvbvuechngq2. The anti virus Clam is useless. It was marking mp4's as not insulated or something. My plex server isn't even playing a movie and the CPU is high. What's going on?

I rebooted and it was 20%, but minutes later it's back to 100% and now the culprit is a process called 3tbuoowurdcqw8s. Bizarre.

Hi,
Is it possible to let our engineer check it remotely? You can send an email to our tech team .

What version of TOS is on the device? Some older versions have vulnerabilities which can be remotely exploited if you have the NAS accessible from the internet. My advice would be to switch off the NAS, drop a mail to the tech team as advised and wait for further advice from them. There have been some other owners that had their devices infected with a ransomware virus which encrypted all their data, hopefully that's not that case but for safety sake I'd turn off the device just in case and let TM help.

I don't think it's ransomware. Plex still works. The CPU of the NAS is just nearly always at 100% after 4.2.08.2101111540. The update before this one was weird too. I updated but the notification said there was still an update available. Like the update wasn't being recognized by Terramaster.

Hi, your device may be infected with a mining virus. Please wait for a reply. We will arrange remote service for you on Monday.

If you've any data on the device that you can't replace then back it up now in case it gets lost, either by ransomware encrypting it or if you have to wipe and reinstall everything. Once a device is infected with anything I'd never trust it until I'd done a complete wipe and reinstall. Hopefully it'll be a quick fix for you when the techs get to you on monday. Fingers crossed for you.

Unfortunately my HD is 12TB, 6TB used. I don't have any extra hard drives to back this stuff up.
