Can't locate newly purchased f4-220

I have connected the NAS to the same router as my MacBook
Downloaded the latest TOS and it would not locate the NAS
I don't have a firewall in place
also the mac and NAS are in the same network.
The NAS is turned ON and the LAN port flashes showing the activity
I changed the LAN cable and switched the ports.
No result.
Also i do not see it in the router admin panel as an attached device.
