I tried method 2, but every time I run './make_install bzImage' i get an error message about /media/ not being an efi partition, and the resulting usb drive doesnt work.

Same issue: Installing for x86_64-efi platform. grub-install: error: /media/ doesn't look like an EFI partition How do I clean a blank partition? Just delete all partitions on the USB drive? Some sites say create a FAT32 partition. That did not work as well. PLEASE TYPE BASIC LAYMAN TYPE ANSWERS. BETTER YET, POST A DOWNLOADABLE IMAGE. THANK YOU.
