It has been a while since I have used my NAS. The pop upgrade warns to set the install. I need to find how to do the Manual update, but my question is on these file names. I have a question somewhere else about trying to figure out what hardware I have, but I believe it is x86. The names use J1800, JM33, and X64.
Are these updates good for all hardware?

Re: My current TOS is 3.X, how to update to the latest version?
I will double-check tonight. I have to back up first anyway and I am having issues downloading to my work desktop. So I am borrowing a USB drive from work that is big enough to hold it. I did find the control panel hardware info. I have a dual core Celeron J2800. Not sure if that tells us what model I have or not.
I found a link for 4.1.21. Assuming the hardware is correct, I can jump from 4.1.03 to 4.1.27 without going through 4.1.21, correct?
When I am doing the backup. Is the USB plug and play? Then will I be able to use the file manager to copy the files?

Re: My current TOS is 3.X, how to update to the latest version?
Hello,
Yes, when you make a backup, you can use the file manager to copy the files. When you finish copying, please eject the USB first and then unplug the USB.
You have a dual-core Celeron J2800 which means your TNAS is an X86 machine.
You need to follow the steps we wrote. You can't jump from 4.1.03 to 4.1.27 without going through 4.1.21, because you need to upgrade a small system on a small U disk on the TNAS motherboard.

I double-check, I do have an F220-2
My reason for asking about 4.1.21, if you go to the first post of this thread, it was not on the list. I found that while looking for the "manual" instructions.
Also, I missed type, I have a JS1800. Still x86. How do you edit a post. I wanted to fix it but could not figure out how.
This may not have been a good idea, but I used the new disk to rebuild the raid. So now I have disk two from the raid when I replaced it.
What motherboard does the F220 use? Is it socketed? Can I upgrade the CPU and/or memory?

Re: My current TOS is 3.X, how to update to the latest version?
One more question. I am going from 3.1.15 to 4.0.09. I confirmed to jump version and it has gone up to 70% and just sitting there.
Should I be seeing any movement? If I open a different tab and look at the update under the control panel, it shows to be 3.1.15.
How do I know it is progressing?
How long should I wait before trying again?

It's been 15 minutes now, if it's still at 70% progress, please update it by reloading.

I rebooted and now it goes to the "loading" and the blue bar just repeats back and forth.
I went to the link and downloaded the tnas pc. The TNAS shows up.
I downloaded the 4.0.9 ins. The instruction said to click on it. I am on my windows 10 computer. Do I use TNAS PC to install?
How?

Re: My current TOS is 3.X, how to update to the latest version?
After a hard off/on I was able to upgrade from 3.x to 4.x. After un-zipping it went fairly quickly to the reconnect countdown. Once on the 4.x platform upgrading through the 4.x versions went without incident.
I am now on 4.2.07.
