[Help] Win11 VM - Screen Res Stuck at 1200x800
Posted: 25 Aug 2026, 19:49
G'day all,
Just setup my F8 SDD plus (coming from HP Gen8 Microserver and unraid)
TOS 7 from day 1. Got the igpu passing straight through to jellyfin docker.
Now onto Win11 VM (Ghostepctre compact edition)
Tried Virto-win-gtx64.msi driver
and then
usbmmidd_v2
https://www.amyuni.com/downloads/usbmmidd_v2.zip
Download, extract, then in an admin command prompt:
deviceinstaller64 install usbmmidd.inf usbmmidd
Then run:
deviceinstaller64 enableidd 1
No luck - shows 2nd screen - but wont survive a reboot.
doesnt want to change res for screen 1
Can't change windows to show screen 2 only. Screen freezes in noVNC.
Win 11 simply Greyed out at 1200x800 in Display Settings
VM Setup is....
Video Card - VGA
Machine type - Q35
Storage type - Sata Controller
Firmware - UEFI
Serial port - Disable
Virtual USB Controller - USB3.0
USB Device - Disabled
Windows is happy - just poor screen res.
Ill take any advice here, Cheers lads!
