[Help] UPS does not stop abnormal shutdown on F2-421

I’ve bought a UPS for my F2-421 as we’re quite prone to electrical drop outs where I am.

We’ve just had a very short one today, and despite TOS recognising the UPS configured in the settings it’s still reporting an abnormal shutdown.

Can anyone suggest what I’ve got wrong?

Hi,

What is your current setting for "Wait time prior to entering safe mode"?

Could you also let us know the model of your UPS?

It's possible that the UPS battery didn't last long enough, or after it was drained, the remaining power wasn't sufficient for the NAS to complete a proper shutdown.

We suggest adjusting the settings and observing the behavior afterwards.

It’s a CyberPower BR1000ELCD-UK

It was set to ten, but the power cut was 1-2 seconds

Silly question: Is the nas connected to the correct outlet on the ups? The surge protection only ports will shut down immediately on a power failure and cause the effect you are seeing.
Otherwise have you used the Cyberpower utility to configure the ups independently of the nas settings. I don't know the specifics of cyberpower, but ups generally can be configured with various delay factors for different scenarios. Off the top of my head, my apc smart-ups units have 3 or 4 delay factors that can be set (as well as delaying a restart before the ups has recovered a given charge level). None of this can be set by the nas.
Internal settings can also include an instruction to shut down the ups immediately on power failure (I'm not sure who would want that) but it's also something that would cause what you are seeing.
All the nas does, seemingly, is respond to a "power fail" signal and implement it's own internal timers.
