I searched throughout these forums and must've last been in the Initialization topic because my question got posted there.

After reaching the final screen that says "The system is being updated and is expected to take 5-10 minutes" the screen stayed unchanged for almost 6 HOURS. Online someone confirmed that wasn't normal and that I should 1. Power Off, 2. Unseat the drive carriers an inch or so (I've got six 14TB drives), then power back on.
The TNAS PC app found it, I was able to log in and the screen confirmed it was now at TOS 7 but without drives (of course). They're hot-swap drives, so I slowly pushed them back in. Storage Manager then showed all six drives but said the RAID was corrupted. I rebooted and the admin webpage became unavailable.
The TNAS app shows both of the NAS's ethernet connections but clicking one tells me the unit needs to be initialized (with ONLY ONE network connection.)
I stopped there. Should I re-initialize? Will the drives become useless?
I thought TRAID arrays were supposed to be self-repairing. Five of the six 14tb drives are the only drive pool. The sixth is set up as a hot-spare.

It's likely best that you communicate with TerraMaster support chat when they're available, so an support agent can assist you in getting it back to a usable state hopefully without any data loss; @TMSupport or another TerraMaster employee will likely post a direct link to their support once they've seen this thread.

There's a possiblity that the bootloader isn't seeing the system drive, which is why it's now going to the initialization boot (initboot) wizard environment; you could force it to boot from the correct drive by changing the boot order by accessing the UEFI BIOS by connecting a monitor & keyboard to the TNAS (this has been a requirement on certain TNAS models with stable TOS 7 build releases), as mentioned within this thread: viewtopic.php?p=57692#p57692

Not sure if there's a recent UEFI update for this particular TNAS model, which possibly fixes anything related to the issue you've experienced, however it might be worth upgrading to if available through support, after you've regained access to the TOS environment.
