[Help] F2-424 keep freezing with NVME

I received a brand new TerraMaster F2-424 last week. Unfortunately, every configuration that includes an NVMe SSD eventually freezes after 20 minutes to 3 hours, requiring a hard power cycle.
I'm running out of ideas and would appreciate any advice on how to continue troubleshooting.
System behavior
The system freezes even after a fresh installation, with no shared folders, no applications installed, and while completely idle.
When the freeze occurs:
- Power LED remains solid.
- HDD LED remains solid (not blinking).
- Network LEDs continue blinking occasionally.
- The web interface becomes inaccessible.
- The NAS stops responding to ping.
- Pressing the power button once has no effect. The system can only be powered off by holding the power button for a forced shutdown.
- If an HDMI monitor is connected, the display remains active but shows graphical corruption (colored blinking lines), as if the video output is corrupted.
Configurations tested
I tested the following configurations:
One NVMe SSD only (tested in both M.2 slots), OS installed on the NVMe → Freeze
One NVMe SSD + one HDD, OS installed on the NVMe → Freeze
One NVMe SSD + one HDD, OS installed on the HDD → Freeze
One HDD only, OS installed on the HDD (no NVMe installed) → No issues observed (I stopped the test after about 4 hours)
The common factor is that the problem only occurs when an NVMe drive is installed, regardless of whether the operating system is installed on it.
Hardware tested
NVMe SSDs:
- Samsung 980 500GB
- WD_BLACK SN850X 2TB (brand new)
- Lexar NM790 4TB
All three exhibit exactly the same behavior.
HDD:
- Seagate IronWolf Pro 8TB
Software and firmware tested
- TOS 6
- TOS 7
- TrueNAS Community Edition
All three operating systems experience the same issue.
The NAS originally shipped with BIOS V6. After repeated freezes, I updated it to BIOS V8 from the TerraMaster forum. Unfortunately, the behavior did not change.
I also tested booting with the following kernel parameters:
intel_idle.max_cstate=0 processor.max_cstate=1 pcie_aspm=off
(C-states are disabled in the BIOS by default.)
Temperature testing
I don't believe this is an overheating issue.
The NAS was tested with the chassis open in an air-conditioned room. During all tests:
CPU temperature never exceeded 45°C.
The warmest NVMe SSD reached approximately 47°C.
The Samsung 980 was the coolest, staying below 40°C.
The freezes still occurred under these conditions, so overheating does not appear to be the cause.
At this point, I'm not sure what else to test. Since the problem occurs with three different operating systems, three different NVMe SSDs, and in both M.2 slots, I'm beginning to suspect a hardware issue with the NAS itself.
Has anyone seen similar behavior, or is there anything else I should try before requesting an RMA?
