The Emby version available in the App Center on TOS is 4.9.0.72, and the current Emby release version is 4.9.5.0. Please update the AppCenter to Emby's current release.

Bunch of issues with manual installation of the packages from Emby's github site. Tried MANY times and always had the same problems,
See this post in Emby forums https://emby.media/community/topic/1476 ... -local-pc/

Using manual install on TOS7, the Emby config directory was buried in "/Volume1/@apps/emby/emby-server/-ffdetect". ("config" folder is the folder that contains the cache, config, data, logs. metadata, plugins, and transcoding-temp folders). What in the world is it doing under a folder named "-ffdetect"?
With the Emby 4.9.0.72 install from the TOS App center the config folder was placed at /Volume1/Emby which is easy to access and manage.

Just tried it again. Same problem. When attempting to upgrade from 4.9.0.72 install from the TOS Appstore, I lose all connection to the previous Emby installation and the "upgrade" to 4.9.5.0 behaves like a brand new installation running me through account and library setup.

In addition to the install location being messed up, I had multiple problems playing back certain files, which seemed pointless to troubleshoot as there was a basic problem with the install files.

Emby tells me they have submitted the new version to you for the TOS AppStore. Have you tested the new version OR are we going to begin a run-around of Emby and TerraMaster each saying the other is at fault?

Regarding the issues you raised, our technical team has identified the following points:

Installation path and configuration loss: The manual installation package (.tpk) incorrectly placed the configuration directory under `.../-ffdetect`. This prevented the system from recognizing the original `/Volume1/Emby` path during the upgrade, causing it to appear as a "fresh installation." This was indeed caused by an error in the path logic within the packaging script.

Playback errors: These issues are typically related to permission settings for that specific path or a failure to correctly load underlying transcoding dependencies (such as FFmpeg).

Regarding the new version for the App Center:
We have received the latest version for TOS 7 submitted by Emby. To ensure a smooth upgrade experience for users—and to prevent a recurrence of the path and data loss issues you encountered—our QA team is currently conducting rigorous compatibility and upgrade path testing. We will only release the version to the TOS App Center once we have guaranteed a seamless migration of configurations for existing users of version 4.9.0.72.

We take your feedback very seriously and are fully committed to resolving these issues. We are maintaining close communication with the Emby team to ensure the release of the most stable version possible. We ask for your patience while continuing to use the current stable version; we will notify you immediately once the new version has passed testing and is available for download. Thank you again for your patience and support.

Thanks for your continued follow-up!

Our testing is nearing completion. We have identified certain specific transcoding and video streaming compatibility issues, and we are already working closely with the Emby team to troubleshoot them together. Please stay tuned!
