[Help] What is TerraSync doing after latest update?

The logs seem to show it's rebuilding the database or something? Is that normal for each update to the application or with this release it needed to rebuild?

The log has of screenshot 20379 entries and growing.

EDIT: Ran a system report: TOS_SystemReport_20260507_093407.zip

Same here, it's now 15 hours of noise from the HDD and VERY slow NAS.
Wow, what an update...

Core Causes and Solutions

1. Network Environment and Connection Method

TerraSync's synchronization speed is directly limited by your network environment.

Remote Connection (TNAS.online): TNAS.online is a free forwarding service with limited speed, suitable only for web browsing and small file transfers. Slow speeds are normal if you use TNAS.online for remote synchronization.

LAN Synchronization: If you are synchronizing within a LAN, slow speeds are related to the quality of internal network equipment, network cables, and switches. Ensure your router, switch, and network cables support gigabit networks.

Recommendation: Switch to Wired Testing: If you are using a wireless network, it is recommended to temporarily switch to a wired network to rule out wireless signal interference and instability.

2. High TNAS System Resource Usage

RAID Synchronization: If your storage pool is undergoing initial synchronization or expansion synchronization, system performance will be severely impacted.

Media Indexing: The TOS system may be creating a database for your photo and video files.

AI Computation (Terra Photos): If face or pet recognition is enabled, AI computation will consume significant resources for extended periods.

Other high-load applications: Docker containers, virtual machines, download tasks (such as qBittorrent), file thumbnail generation, etc.

Recommendation: Check system load: Log in to the TOS webpage and check the CPU, memory, and disk I/O usage in "Resource Monitoring". If it's close to 100%, the system is busy.

Pause high-load tasks: You can temporarily disable media indexing (Control Panel > Media Indexing) or pause high-load applications (such as Jellyfin, download tools) and observe if TerraSync speed recovers.

Wait for completion: If it's RAID synchronization, you need to wait patiently for the synchronization to complete. If it's AI computation, this process may take several days.

3. File Type and Size

Large number of small files: TerraSync needs to compare and verify each file. When synchronizing a large number of small files (such as photos, documents), the transfer rate will be slow, which is normal. This is not purely a network speed bottleneck, but rather the overhead of the processing logic.

Large files: The synchronization speed of large files can usually approach the limit of network bandwidth.
