how safe is it to download it without backing your data you think ?
You are posting in a thread that announces that 6.0.530 is an official release {see Title}. It also advises
that it is available for specific models and levels of version progress.

So {if as I presume based on other posts} you have a 424 model and you have progressed to 5.1.145 you
would be able to follow the instructions in Post #1 of this thread.

Subsequent updates should be available via the Control Panel update channel.
You are still cautioned to read release notes (in the Updates thread here) as they become available for
each subsequent version.

It is as safe to update this as most other operating system. In other words = :!: Backup your data and follow the instructions :!:

Nothing can be assumed.

The icon is greyed out if a bond is configured. I have mine configured as Active/Standby (since I have a slow connection on Lan2) and that has
updated ok without apparent issue. You could try deleting the bond, checking that both interfaces are working individually and then resetting the bond of your choice.

Bad IP address on lan2. That address is a nic default for an unassigned IP (ie not fixed and not getting address from dhcp). Someone has reported a (similar?) problem with IP address under 6.0.535.

Sorry but just a quick question, i buy a m.2 256gb to install the tos6 on it, i have a f4-424 with 5.1.131, it's better to pull out the hhd from the nas and install the tos6 with the m.2 memory on it and then put on the hhd, or install the m.2 and run the update with the hhd on the nas?

Trying to install on an F4-423 running TOS 5.1.67. File uploads and installation start, but ends with error "Tips: Failed to update"

I have plenty of room on my disks, so storage space is not the culprit.

Pretty dumb. Read the first few lines of post 1 in this thread.

D'oh! I misread my version as 5.1.167.
