TOS 5.1.40 (X86) is Released for Update
Re: TOS 5.1.40 (X86) is Released for update
Hi.
It's been a while since I created my shared folders and I'm not sure if they are encrypted or not. As a test, I created a test encrypted shared folder and then viewed the shared folder list but it doesn't specify whether it is encrypted. It just looks like any other folder...
Is there a way I can tell which folders are encrypted?
Thanks.

One way to figure this out would be that Encrypted Folders require key entry after a restart of TOS.
Beyond the additional menu in TOS itself, there isn't currently a visual representation to quickly identify them.

Nor would you necessarily want it. Encrypted folder says "Here is something I want kept private". Identifying such to the casual scanner says "Here is something worth an attempted hack".crisisacting wrote: ↑12 Jul 2023, 15:46 there isn't currently a visual representation to quickly identify them.

On the TOS interface itself, a differentiating icon/marker/description would be helpful.Gremlin wrote: ↑12 Jul 2023, 15:51Nor would you necessarily want it. From the protocol aspect, definitely show all folders similarly; unless it's set to public without credentials, every share should already require username+password.

Have you ever used TOS4? The system partition may be small and there may be an upgrade issue. (Please refer to the red note on the first page) Please try installing TOS 5.124 back.

Re: TOS 5.1.40 (X86) is Released for update
Just to give feedback: I've just bought a new F2-223, booted and let it init with default config (scratch install I suppose).
At first restart the bootloader complained for missing file, i.e. setup.symbol `grub_fshelp_find_file_lookup` not found
To make it boot again I had to enter BIOS bootloader section and change disks order, moving the internal storage before HDD.
TOS version: 5.1.40
BIOS/initBoot version: 5.19
