I have tried several ram:
Crucial, Corsair, Timetec, Hynix.
The specifics were right. None of these worked. I have an F2-220 Nas, it has 5 years old. How is it possible that the only ram sells terramaster is good? The hardware incompatibilità it's not the problem, here terramaster does not allow competitor and is a very incorrect behavior

: You are talking about DDR3L that worked perfectly into my old F2-421.
I think it's only introduced with the new DDR4 RAM AND TOS 5, basically the 423 series.
I'll send the machine back (I have 30 days to decide), as 32 GB basically costs the same as the machine if you add the transport.
Add to that the cost of the HDDs and you pretty much need to spend 1000 Euros to keep your photos safe.
Any of you found the Memory Check script or executable?

Yes DDR3L. But i tried it with tos 4 not tos 5. None of them worked. I don't think it's a script or executable that block memory

Hm, I was able to use DDR3L wich supports 1.3 V ... no issue with TOS5 and F2-421, In our company we use Kingmax/Crucial, so I'm pretty sure it was a Kingmax/Crucial Memory I will check (It was SK Hynix, see below).
Be very carefull to be a DDR3L not the standard DDR3 Sodimm Type as that works at 1.5, the L is important.
Also tested
2x Hynix 4GB 2400T HMA851S6AFRN6N, single sided
The T means it follows exactly JEDEC standards. Pretty much says it all.
Nothing more to say.

Yes, thanks, I'm talking about DDR3

I just checked, I used with F2-421 , Intel J3455 CPU Quad core, with Both TOS 4 and 5:
SK hynix
4GB 1Rx8 PC3L - 12800S-11-13-B4
HMT451S6BFR8A-PB N0 AA 1523

Maybe i will check, Thanks for the spec and name of the ram. I don't know if that ram work with my processor
https://ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en ... 8-ghz.html
I'll also check for JEDEC standard, i don't what it is

F2-423 Saga Continues, default RAM info:
Code: Select all
dmidecode --type 17 | more
Memory Device
Size: 4096 MB
Form Factor: SODIMM
Type: DDR4
Speed: 2400 MT/s
Manufacturer: KingboMars Technology Co Ltd
Serial Number: D9060D37
Asset Tag: 9876543210
Part Number: A-SRAMD4-4G-JB2400S
Configured Clock Speed: 2133 MT/s
I only left the essential data, as you can see the Ram is 2400 but working at 2133, also same thing is stated in this review
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/sho ... ter-F2-423.
I'll try to source some of that and check again, atm I would be happy with 8gb total, not the planned 32.
I did not get a clear answer from support if ALL 3rd Party ram is blocked, or we need to comply with very strict restrictions.
I think that is what we're asking here.
