The hard drive sleep mode still isn't working, unless you use Jayjay's workaround.
Code: Select all
systemctl stop smartmontools.service
This should already be fixed in 7.0.0777. You've disabled it for now, but we're not sure if it will turn back on after a reboot. When you restart your NAS next time, keep an eye on whether the service stays off. If it comes back on even on the new version, we'll need further investigation.

has TOS7 been released OTA to the 424 yet? or is it still a manual update?
The TOS 7 update is expected to be released OTA to 424‑series devices shortly. You should receive it within the near future.

Currently on 7.0.0777 when I try and update I get this error "Update check failed. Please check your network connection and try again." Nothing wrong with the network connection and previous updates have been fine. Where can I manually download 7.0.0791?

I tried to delete a user, and the dialog displayed:
“Are you sure you want to delete ‘test’? Please enter the current user’s password to continue.”
I entered the password of the test user, but it didn’t work because the dialog actually expects the administrator’s password.
Could you rephrase this message to make it clearer which password is required?

It might simply be "your password" - supposing an admin group member might have required authority to create/delete/edit user details. If the current user/password entered does not have authority an "Insufficient rights" message might appear. (I feel that sometimes failure messages in Tos are not intuitive.)

the reason for asking is so that i know to instruct my dad to upgrade his, as i did mine manually i have no idea whether it will detect the update and since well the email notification of an update is laughable, and as a normal user he does not login to the desktop of a NAS he wouldnt know it was there either
so the big question is how will anyone know that it is released OTA? will you announce it on here?

TOS 6 users will only see an update notification when they check for updates in the Control Panel. I know this isn't ideal, and we plan to improve the update notification system in the future.
