My -424 has the same arrangement which confused me at first :? Maybe the ports should be labelled.
Yes, the box should have an illustration page for describing the unit designated ports with details.

During my troubleshooting to do re-initialization from JBOD to Single RAID, the P2P online support did request specifically connecting PC ONLY to the top ethernet port for accessing Tnas.

Files transfer max speed is 282MB/s (pc 2.5Gbe to Tnas 2.5Gbe). It was 111MB/s with 1Gbe switch.

Critical info: Only the F2-223 top ethernet port works, with PC detection of Tnas, but NOT the lower port. (Only one cable was connected)

General info: Still can activate TOS 5 but network interface showed connections are, top port as LAN 2 (with PC), bottom port as LAN 1 (with switch).

A good lesson learned. Thank you TerraMaster......
Glad to hear it worked out! That 2.5GbE speed boost makes a big difference. Interesting note about the F2-223’s Ethernet ports—good to know only the top one works for direct PC detection. Always great learning from these setups. Thanks for sharing your experience!

You are always welcome. A bit of efforts and time wanting to enhance the TOS system and experience, so others can benefit.

After updating to TOS 6, sad to experiencing that I lost the 2.5GBe files transfer speed between 223 NAS and PC (main board came with 2.5GBe port). Current is max at 115MB/s using the 2.5GBe adapter through the 1GBe 8 ports switch. Reserving the existing PC 2.5GBe port for troubleshooting, it worked before. (Thinking of buying the TP-Link Router wifi 7 with 5port 2.5GBe so saving money to buy a 2.5GBe switch. By worrying the new router cannot mesh with my 5 pcs of Huawei Wifi 6+ which work well in my 330M2 home.)

223 NAS has been set with SMB multi-channel enable, and PC activated high version of SMB functionality (and deactivated legacy SMB). But still didn't work, always 115MBps at this PC 2.5GBe port.

Anyway, wishing you happy NASing.... :)
