Did you do as they requested back in December?

Does not appear that you followed up on that original post, so no surprise that your enquiry was given lower priority.

I recently upgraded my F4-421 (version 2019) from TOS 5.1.145 to 6.0.530, and from there to 6.0.648.
At first it wouldn't let me upgrade to TOS 6.0.530 because my initboot/BIOS was 5.12 (which according to chatgpt is equivalent to MAPL0304V17). For this reason I continued reading the official forums and found a thread explaining how to update the BIOS to be able to upgrade my F4-421 to TOS 6.0.530.
I upgraded to version MAPL0303V21 (after mistakenly switching to MAPL0304V22) thanks to Terramaster's technical support.
The thing is that I have managed to install TOS 6.0.648 and everything works correctly, the 4 disks are detected, and the RAID as well, but the LEDs for disks 3 and 4 are off, and only one of the 3 network interfaces works.
I bought my NAS on August 12, 2019, so my version is older than 2020.
I suspect that my F4-421 is not compatible with the BIOS they provided me, and I don't know if there is a BIOS version for my NAS that allows me to install (in my case keep installed) TOS6.
At the moment my entire system works fine, except for the LEDs and because I have lost two network interfaces, but the rest works smoothly and quickly.
My question is, is there a BIOS version that solves my "small" problem?

Sorry but there is no way to resolve your issue.

TOS6 has requirements for both NAS batches and BIOS versions. Even if you update the BIOS to a compatible version, the device will still be from an incompatible NAS batch. If you revert the BIOS back to an older version, it will result in even more compatibility issues.

At this point, it is clear that the LED light indicates the issue cannot be resolved.

Additionally, if you encounter a problem with the fan not spinning, try each fan mode one by one to find the mode that keeps the fan running continuously.

My fans spin fine in all modes. The only problem I find is the LEDs being turned off. Otherwise the NAS works perfectly (unless there is something hidden that I haven't discovered yet).

My intention is to go back on everything, I want an older BIOS compatible with the serial number of my NAS (I suppose you know which one it came from the factory with), and reinstall TOS 5.1.145, and your technical support does not provide me with any of this.

I repeat, although everything works on my NAS, I don't trust it, and I want to go back to my previous state.

Is it so complicated that you provide me with an old BIOS file? Your technical service tells me that unfortunately they cannot help me (or they do not want to) and they refer me as a solution to this same post that I created. It's simply insane.

Can you provide me with some old BIOSes for my model (F4-421)?

For example, the BIOS of the year 2019, which was its year of manufacture.

In my case this is the response from technical support...

"Sorry, we can no longer find the old BIOS version you're looking for."

Shameful. Obviously I will throw away my F4-421 and buy one from a serious company.

I understand your feelings, but you are seeking something that does not exist.
If you wish to install TOS5, both your NAS device and BIOS version typically support it, although we generally do not recommend doing so.
If you insist, you can burn a USB Initboot specifically for TOS5 and then install TOS 5.1.145.

Does this (or another release) support the U4-111?

Support page for that model hasn't been updated with newer TOS builds.

U4-111 is ×86/×64, so it should be capable of taking TOS 6.× unless it has a UEFI/BIOS incompatibility similar to the entire 220/420 series devices or the pre-June 2021 manufactured 221/421 series devices.

As can be said for every electronic system. ?Windows 11? - not on THAT antiquated, old piece of junk!
Not really, I installedWindows 11 on my 7th gen i7 and owrks without any error, while here it seems, the risk is quite enormous. Everything from "it works fine" to "lost data" is possible. Microsoft would get a shitstorm, if they would release an update like this.

Hello,

I have an F4-421 and MAPL0303V19 as initBoot version. According to the update description I can install the TOS 6.0.530 update "safely" on the hardware. However, I'm not quite sure how to proceed afterwards. According to the description, all users and groups are deleted. I have exported these as xlsx using the export function. What do I do with the shares and the storage pool (TRAID)? I also have an encrypted share. Are these automatically recognized so that I only have to create the users and groups again?
