Well I was wrong about this. The usb 2.0 connection still disconnected after a few more hours. Back to square one. A nonfunctional UPS-F4-423 combination.

This exact problem was reported over a year ago and there were a few suggestions about a fix. Perhaps have a look at this post and a few more in that thread that discuss an update that should fix the issue. It still continues to disconnect for me.

CyberPower CP1000PFCLCD will not maintain connection

I've verified this device is on the supported list but also found that there's an issue with the usbhid-ups driver as I've had similar issues with a pfsense firewall running NUT.
There is a workaround for pfsense (FreeBSD) of running the following command
CODE: SELECT ALL
usbconfig add_dev_quirk_vplh 0x2e51 0x0002 0x0000 0xffff UQ_HID_IGNORE
usbconfig is not a recognized command by TOS, is there an updated or dev branch of usbhid-ups that you can get and integrate into a new update that has the issue patched out
Here's a link to an updated (dev) version of the driver https://forum.netgate.com/assets/upload ... hid-ups.gz

I have the very same issue with PowerWalker UPS and F5-221 in TOS 5 and now in TOS 6 it works for a short time but then the UPS isn't detected.
The PowerWalker UPS is on the TerraMaster list of approved UPS.

I have tried many things but I can’t fix this problem. And nobody from TM seems interested in helping solve the problem. I can see that the usb ports go into autosuspend mode after about 30 min of inactivity. Once this happens TOS thinks there is no UPS device attached but if you unplug it you get a message saying the device was unplugged. So it knows it was attached. To add to the problem I can’t edit the system files that control this function. Sudo says permission denied. I have asked for help but so far nobody has offered help. It looks like it has been a reported problem for well over a year. It’s frustrating because I bought a UPS that was on their list of compatible devices and it doesn’t work. Hopefully they will sort it out but until then it is a money and time wasted.

I'm running TOS 5.1.145 using a CyberPower UPS with a USB connection and am experiencing the same drop in connections to the UPS. The power is not the best in my area and hoping to see a fix for this soon.

Not sure if same, but on my F4-223 (5.1.145) the UPS just kicked in for 5 seconds then switch back to main power. After that happens I can't logon to the F4, either from the Web or the desktop app. Web says unknown ID/Password. I have to force a shutdown on the F4 by the power button. What I haven't tried if shares mounted still work and data can be read from it during the time I can't logon.
