As stated in my messagges it is shameful, I have bought an F2-422 as the others, and the limitations was not declared by you on my hardware.TMtina wrote: ↑19 Jan 2025, 18:22We apologize, but as stated clearly in our update instructions, due to hardware limitations, certain models of NAS are not supported for upgrading to TOS 6.0.530, and your NAS model is among them.eulero wrote: ↑18 Jan 2025, 21:29CraftyClown wrote: ↑18 Jan 2025, 19:33
I'm running TOS6 fine on my F2-422. Is yours one of older models? I believe the BIOSes that aren't compatible are MAPL0301V14, MAPL0302V13, MAPL0302V14, MAPL0303V14, MAPL0303V15, MAPL0304V14 and MAPL0304V15
It is clear since the first message of this thread. No need to rewrite, thanks.

I'm confused, when did you buy the F2-422? This is now an older model so how would Terramaster have been able to declare limitations when you purchased it as TOS6 didn't even exist. Is there a reason you need TOS6 on your NAS? Is there something essential you need it to do that TOS5 can't do?eulero wrote: ↑22 Jan 2025, 07:23As stated in my messagges it is shameful, I have bought an F2-422 as the others, and the limitations was not declared by you on my hardware.
I understand you're disappointed you can't upgrade your NAS but I don't see why this is something shameful on TM's behalf
Re: TOS 6.0.530 Official Version Released
I am already running TOS 6.0.229 on my F5-221 and this is the version recommended for this model, now I know that It's said that the earlier modes can't run TOS6 but if that is the case surly I wouldn't be running 6.0.229?
Anyway I just can't update to 6.0.530 it just says update failed is the anything else I can try, does the bios/bootloader have an impact on this update?

Yes, the bios/boot version is 5.12.

Bios 5.12 is one of those quoted to be outside the upgrade window. (See 1st post this thread)

Re: TOS 6.0.530 Official Version Released
My question was can the bios be updated? As it seems, this is what is preventing the update.

Re: TOS 6.0.530 Official Version Released
Based on the change from a numbered revision to an alphanumeric identifier, there was likely a vendor/parts change for the motherboard.
v5.12 seems like the last one for the previous board & there wasn't a newer release to update to; seems that there's no path forward for that particular board.
Re: TOS 6.0.530 Official Version Released
I just can't figure that if the system will run the 6.0.229 version which seems to include all the features of the later versions, why can't it be upgraded I am sure there are some here that could find a way?

Re: TOS 6.0.530 Official Version Released
Since you also have a 423 series device now, you could probably upgrade your 221 install using that & then see if it'll load on the 221 series device to get around the installation preventive measure that's in place.
Obviously, do so at your own risk, as there's zero guarantee that'll give you a functional current TOS 6 build for your 221.
