I'm truly sorry, but currently, we are unable to display the specific progress status of the permission transition for you. At the two crucial stages—when the permission transition starts and when it finishes—the TOS desktop will send corresponding notification alerts. I have already conveyed your request to show the transition progress to our product team, and they will conduct a professional assessment subsequently.
Given your current situation, I suggest that you first restart the NAS device and then manually set the relevant permissions. Compared to the online transition method, manually setting permissions will be processed more quickly.
Hi, somewhat new to TOS so what do i need to manually convert permissions.
My NAs has been running since 30th Dec on the permissions full time running. It does look like something is happening as constituently CPU and reading data.
Does any existing permissions stay and only the non-converted ones to do?

Well after 10+ attempts to install TOS7, my F5-221 is now bricked!!! I can't reinstall TOS6 so I am F'ed!! I have good backups via USBCopy (I hope) but I am unable to get my F5 to work at all!!! Not TOS5, TOS6 or TOS7 will install now!! No version will boot!
Anyone need a door stop!! That's all this NAS is good for!

I have the same issue after trying to upgrade to TOS 7, I read through all the requirements and I had the correct version of TOS6 the correct bios etc.
From the TNAS client app on windows PC it can detect the F5-221 and shows not initialized when I login it takes me to into the menu to set up, doesn't matter if I select next or wait for 60sec for auto install it progresses to select up to 2 drives to install OS and hangs will not go past this point.
I haven't tried to reinstall TOS 6 on the USB internal drive but I guess this is the next step to get the F5-221 working again.

F5-221 that meets all the requirements will not install TOS 7 my NAS is showing as not initialized in the TNAS windows client when I log in via the app it brings me to the setup page where I can wait 60sec or click next when I wait 60 secs or click next it asks me to select up to two drive to install the OS and hangs. I have tried many times, but it always hangs. I have not tried to reinstall the TOS 6 boot loader on the internal USB and I'm guessing that is my next step ?

When removing all hard drives and powering on, can you hear a few beeps? If you can hear the beeps, you can refer to this post to recreate the boot system, as different boot systems are applicable to different system versions:

Initialization failure is usually related to the hard disk or the boot system. You can recreate the boot system and then install the system on these two hard disks separately:

I have tried all of these. My drives all test Normal and work perfectly fine with TOS6. I hear only 1 beep when I manually restart the unit after waiting 10 hours for the install to finish.

When restarting the device, you can only hear a single beep sound, which usually indicates a problem with the boot system. If you have already recreated the boot system by referring to forum posts, it may be that the internal USB drive is damaged. You can replace the USB drive and recreate the boot system.
