For an official release this is super flakey:
- smtp notifications don't work
- apps work and are enabled and then don't - eg CloudSync
- migration from the previous version is average at best
- permissions and other config needs to be reset all over the place
- existing users are useless
- etc
WoW

Hi there!
Nice to see that the TOS 6 is here
Got some doubts (maybe already solved somewhere)
- What kind of configs are wiped? Only system ones?
- Will the volumes and data be safe ? Asking because this Update seems to be quite big and there is a lot of data.
- If I'm running services through Docker, will this update break the Docker config too ? Maybe only need to update but want to ask.
i lost all my data

What did you do to your NAS? what is the status now? how the TRAID damanged? did you do any abnormal operation to your disk? would you show a screenshot to let us understand your situation?

Hi folks, quick question;
I have three Terramaster NAS devices and I was in the process of updating my F4-423... except I accidentally updated the F2-422 instead! Once I realised what I had done I expected it to at best throw an error and fail to upload, but to my pleasant surprise it has updated to 6.0.530 without any issues whatsoever.
Now my question is; should I consider this device as unreliable and potentially unstable as it was not on the recommended update list? Was there a reason the F2-422 was not yet cleared for TOS 6, or is it just because the TM team were still in the testing phase?

That may depend on the update 'path' used. Did you do a manual update using the .bz2 update file; from a 6Beta version? Or, from 5.1 version? (I'm still waiting to update my F5-221.....)

I went .bz2 from 5.1. I hadn't touched the betas as I knew I didn't have the time to tinker with my setups and I presumed the official version should involve less fuss.
As a docker user I'm pleasantly surprised how easy it's been to just be fully up and running with minimal fuss
That said this isn't my first rodeo and I'm braced for issues, especially seeing as the F2-422 isn't officially supported
In other news I've just updated my F4-423 and it was just as smooth an update process. So far I'm pretty happy and I'm moving on to my F4-424 Pro next

That's one of my concerns... in TOS 5 the TRAID management is not the most straightforward thing I don't want surprises just because update to a newer version which got interesting functionality but the risk

TOS6 adopts a completely new root file system, so upgrading from TOS5 to TOS6 will erase all system configurations.
