Just got my F4-424, gonna load this TOS 7 Beta
I'm coming from an F4-210, so I expect the UI + overall responsiveness to be improved.

New update just dropped with a lot of fixes, but the docker permissions issue doesn't seem to be included yet unfortunately.

Regarding the Docker permission issue, the fix for this problem has not yet been merged into the current version. We expect to resolve this issue in the next release. Additionally, the Beta version of TOS 7 is expected to be updated on a weekly basis.

Hi all, just for my undestanding: I came from Synology world and this year I moved to F2-425 plus, since I moved to Terramaster I discovered lots of minor/major issues I was not facing with Synology, for example:
cronjob not keeping settings at reboot
unclean shutdown even when a normal shutdown is triggered via console, gui, mobile app (with volume resync)
automatic power on prevented is ups battery are in lowbatt mode even if AC power is correctly on
Journal logs deleted at each reboot (no permanent logs by design)
other minor issues...now my questions for who is currently testing the Tos 7 beta: is there any of these issues fixed? Did you all you guys had the same issues as mine?
I was able to workaround partially these issues via custom scripts but I think this should not the normal behaviour for a normal end user...just my 2 cents.
Ciao

Don't try and treat TOS as linux. For a start there is no "root" in the linux sense, since that is disabled. Trying to write cron jobs is a waste of your time. Use scheduled tasks within tos. "Custom" scripts are liable to be overwritten, either on reboot or on update, so they cannot be relied upon either.
If you want Linux style, install Linux variety of your choice.

I am unable to upload iso image to Virtual machines. I get to the final screen of the wizard gui, but unable to click confirm.
Is there a folder path of config I can edit manually to bypass the GUI?

Hi, Wonder if there is anyway to judge/show progress for the permission conversion.
I have a f4-424 with 4x18tb drives with mixed media, photos and films along with various backup files, as well as two 7tb usb drives connected so approx. 50tb full currently. Each disk is a single disk, no raid/pooling.
I started the Beta install now 3 days 6hrs ago, and since then running 24/7 CPU at 64%, memory approx 20% and disk activity pegging Reading 14GB/s.
The only process really running is tnas-aclconv, i assume is the permission conversion.
I can access my plex server remotely and watch films but cannot access the other drives and backups now on pause.
Thanks.

I have now tried countless times to install TOS 7xx on my F2-422.
Despite the support team's assistance, for example, I was offered the bootloader “x86_bootloader_V6.1.294.img” for download and told to use it for installation, but after each installation of the file "TOS_X642.0_Update_7. 0.0299_00446_2512081654.bz2" after the required reboot, TOS version 6.0.794 boots. The directory /home/username contains files from each attempt, such as “update2026-01-02-09-06-42.log,” which contain error messages that I don't understand. I have already sent one such “updatexxxx.log” to support.
For the moment, I don't know what to do and am giving up.
I received this error message even though I had installed version TOS 6.0.794 and wanted to install TOS7 with it. This happened when I ran the installation again with only one disk. With one disk, I got this error.

Try a different BIOS version maybe?

Is there any feedback on how soon we can expect Docker Manager to be fixed? As far as I can see, it is totally NON FUNCTIONAL. It fails to install immich, and it fails to install ZeroTier. Given how important Docker is to the apps, it is hard to imagine this being missed during testing.
I'm wondering how long we need to wait for a fix, or if I should start installing other NAS software on my new Terramaster F8 SSD Plus?
Thank you,
Chris
