This thread relates to an earlier system version. Have you updated to more recent version?

Yep I have updated. But still, I am frustrated with my NAS experience. I definitely feel it lacks consistency. Among so many issues, the one I am struggling with now is: 'Start backup when USB device is plugged in'—it just does not work.

Are you currently using TOS6.0.610?
We have not yet reproduced the anomaly you mentioned about "'Start backup when USB device is plugged in'" and will continue to monitor it.
Also, have the issues you raised in other posts been resolved?
You seem to have encountered quite a few exceptions, and if they are still unresolved in TOS6.0.610, it cannot be ruled out that these may be related to factors outside the system. I suggest you generate and download the log report package in TOS > Technical Support > Report Issues, and then send it to support mailbox(support(at)terra-master.com) for inspection.
