He doesn't. He took the 5 disks out and put a working 4 disk in.
Transferring data from old F2-221 drive (raid 0, TOS4) to newly installed drives (raid 1, TOS5)
Re: Transferring data from old F2-221 drive (raid 0, TOS4) to newly installed drives (raid 1, TOS5)
Just wanted to provide an update since I got everything working:
I powered off the F2-221 and took the two 8tb (TOS5) hard drives out. I inserted the one 4tb (TOS4) hard drive and powered on the F2-221. I was unable to map the drive using the file explorer and I could not access it via TNAS PC. I realized that I was running TNAS PC V5 and so I reinstalled TNAS PC V4 (which I had to download from another site because I couldn't find it on the TerraMaster site). I was then able to login and map the drive using TNAS PC V4. I then transferred all my data to an external hard drive on my PC. I powered down the F2-221 and replaced the 4tb with the two 8tb and I am now in the process of transferring the data from the external hard drive to the two 8tb that are now in the F2-221.
