Took me two goes to get the update to stick, had to re-initialize to 33 and then got 34 to update, the media index has gone and had to recreate, and although the media server doesn't disconnect/turn off when a TV connects it still not seeing any content, and why is it that new folders 1 to 4 are created with every update?

Do you have four drives on your TNAS as single drive? and you wipe your data and recreate volumes by using "Default option" in reinstallation?

The log is from my ubuntu server that runs off the same switch. ICMP traffic is stable with no network drop outs.

Nope! 2 as RAID and the rest as single disk, and I always use the custom option to reinstall.
Updated from 5.1.33 this caused lots of issues, Raid array re-sync started from what i could see when i got into the web interface, but the device crashes after ~5-10 minutes of this due to 'tcp_recvmsg' function stalling on all CPU cores, same thing every reboot.
Currently reinitialising to 5.1.33, waiting for this one to re-sync now it would seem .....
Note to self don't update the TOS software as it almost never ends well.
