to be honest i'm half thinking of the same, its a bit more of a faff to have to manually download the update to update multiple devices
it had got a bit smoother "experience" since i found i could use my app on the phone to do the updates, and with the VM's now auto starting its almost a hands off approach to updates with almost everything starting automatically
so a weeks delay i might have to build in, still wish i could get notified when an update is released without me having to periodically go and check to see if there is one though

Hi, it's already possible to have email notification for system updates (when TM publish globally the update package).
Check in control panel, here:

i have had extensive conversations with TM over this
the email ONLY gets sent out when you log into the Web Admin
it is not triggered at any other point so essentially you have to go and check whether theres an update to be sent an email that there is an update, you wont just randomly receive an email to be told there is one, which is the whole point of being sent an email
if you have to manually log in then you already get the notification on screen telling you there is an update

and, if updates are phased, by model, you have to physical log in to each device to check.
I'm sure most of us know how annoying the call from the back seat can be.
"Are we there yet?"

Updated successfully but no mention of disk sleep fixes so updated Global Search then shut it down again.

Agree totally! Weird implementation, that should run as a scheduled task on the background once a day, without logging in.

Not in a hurry to update 1140 since 1130 is working fine for me, I hope they will fix the problem that Plex server can not access the files in an attached USB drive without the requirement to create a storage pool (single drive) and a new volume before Plex server can access those files. ie have to back up all the files in that USB drive and transfer it back after the new volume is created.
