Hoping to get some help

I have TOS6 and have used Qbittorrent for a few years without any issue.

The integrated search was searching several sources just fine until recently when it would only offer results from a single source torrents-csv and the "check for updates" in the plugin window no longer works.

I figured it was maybe outdated Python or qBt so I have tried installing the latest Python 3.8.12 and even tried 3.11 along with updating qBt to 5.1.2 however now the search produces nothing, not a single result so it appears now it is completely broken and no clue how that has happened.

Anything I can look into? Been quite a while since I had to even login to my NAS, it just ticks away doing what it should until now :(

EDIT: Will also add that since updating qBt to 5.1.2 all the detail tabs General/Tracker/Peers etc are empty when selecting a downloading torrent. Files still download but much of the application appears broken. I have tried restart of whole system and also TOS6 is up to date...

It seems that you are using the official version and not the community version

Updated but still having issues.

Update plugins is still not functioning and seem to get few manually added plugins from here working:
https://github.com/qbittorrent/search-p ... ch-plugins

However most of these wont even install at all. I have now installed all available Python libraries 3.8, 3.10 and 3.11. Manually adding TPB for instance, no results returned and a month ago it use to work. I ended up deleting the whole list and the cache/nova directory but now I cannot even get the same plugins back I use to have working before.

I see in the log when I try and do the "plugin update":
(I) 2026-06-25T16:12:46 - Failed to check for plugin updates: Update server is temporarily unavailable. The connection to the remote server timed out.

But this has been happening for days / weeks and I do not have any VPN or anything in the way at the moment.

The update did fix the blank tabs tho

Little lost now on the plugin side. Is there a list of some plugins people use that are working? Many from the linked list are no longer valid and the ones that appear to still be valid just are not installing for me

Ok, think I am a little closer.

I switched my DNS to google for my NAS and it is now allowing plugins to be added and the update plugins has now auto-added plugins however I get this when searching:

Jackett: api key error! Right-click this row and select 'Open description page' to open help. Configuration file: '/usr/local/@APP_CONFIG/qBittorrent/data/nova3/engines/jackett.json'

I deleted this folder based on research to 'delete the cache' so I need to know how to install this back again. Following the details, i'm not having much luck and no idea what I did initially to get setup years ago.

How do I address this problem when a search throws this message:

Jackett: api key error! Right-click this row and select 'Open description page' to open help. Configuration file: '/usr/local/@APP_CONFIG/qBittorrent/data/nova3/engines/jackett.json'

I see the config file but the jackett service does not appear to run so cannot get any API key via my server IP and 9117 port so unsure how to start the service

I also see this error in the startup log. Have tried with and without the Python311 installed, disabled the jackett entry and just no search works:
