More "Smart Full Test" Frequency Options

Post by CodeTheFuture »

When creating a "Small Full Test" on "All Supported Disks" I cannot select "every week" or "every day" or "this day of every month". Instead we can only select 12 hours. Can we please add more options here. I would like to see weekly, fortnightly and same day each month please.

You can choose "Every month", "Every week", etc. as the cycle in the 'Execution Cycle'.

How are we seeing differing things? These are the only options I have with TOS 6.0.648-00165

Disable
Every Month
Every day
Working day
Monday
Tuesday
Wednesday
Thursday
Friday
Saturday
Sunday

Can you confirm what Make/Model and Firmware you are using to test this please as your testing does not match mine.

Every week is missing. Every day of the month (for example on the 15th day of each month) and Fortnightly are all not selectable. if you want it to trigger on the 1st day of every month and use the "Every Month" option you need to wait till the 1st of the month rolls around as the current date before you can make the policy! What if your installing a Customer NAS on the 6th day of the month?

What if you are installing a NAS for a customer on 31/03/2025 ... and use the "Run every month" ... there are 31 days in March... what happens in April with 30 days? Will it even run??? Do you not see the issue here?

This might differ from your usual habits.
If you choose Tuesday, it will run every Tuesday. When you select 'Every month,' you can choose a date in the window below.

The number of days in each month may vary; this is common knowledge, or would you like us to intelligently recognize dates and add an 'end of month' option?
If you want to execute it every two weeks, you can achieve this by setting up two 'Every month' tasks.

Actually, 2 monthly tasks doesn't quite cut it. ;) For examp[le, in UK, state pension is paid every 4 weeks (yep, archaic lunar cycle) hence 13 payments a year with individuals being paid on different days. {eg I get paid every 4th Monday, Joe gets paid every 4th Tuesday, etc.} My Doctor prescribes medication sufficient for 28 days and packets are generally based on weekly sets (1/2/4). I can set this sort of schedule up in Windows 10 (agenda), Firebird calendar and others. (Just switched to win 11 so not sure about that since they dropped agenda.) I don't see being able to set up a scheduled task in tos based of multiples a week. Just a thought. (But, I won't cry if nothing changes.)

Every week is not missing. "Monday" means every Monday, so this is every week.I believe this is quite obvious, isn't it?
