ok i have tried to use snapshot to recover my file system
it is showing it took a snapshot before the recovery and locked it
whilst the one I am restoring it from 5/6/2024 is showing restoring
I have 15 USB hard drives attached to the nas and 110tb storage on the nas
it has so far deleted everything on the nas and seems to be in the process of restoring the 110tb files
my nas is still showing 110tb space used and files are being restored but all 15 USB are showing as empty with the full amount of space is free
will the snapshot restore the data on the USB hard drives as well or have I lost all 15 hard drive of data ??
how long roughly do you think it will take to complete before I know ???

oh no...., before restoring your snapshot, you need to unmount your USB!!!

Remove your USB now, and check it on your computer.

yes I have removed 2 to check and connected on my PC they are showing empty
I have quickly run through a recover my data and the recovery software can see the file so I don't think the drive has been formatted I am hoping once the snapshot has finished it will appear again what do you think ??
or should I try and recover now ??

You better remove all your USB now, and recover your data on your USB, do not wait.

so why on a system file snap shot would it delete everything on USB hard drives makes no sense ??
a warning would have been good prior to pressing confirm about unplugging any USB devices ??

ok there seems to be something not right going on
it says currently 25gb space left out of 130tb on the volume 1 but I cant see any of my files but whilst this snapshot is carrying on it appears that some of the files are appearing but this is just adding to the space already taken at this rate my nas is going to run out of space before its completed I originally was using 95gb space what should I do ??
