Re: The TOS 6 Beta Is Now Available for Public Testing
Wish that was my issue. Reboot did nothing.lsoto wrote: ↑03 May 2024, 17:32The same was happening to me butjpeckinp wrote: ↑14 Apr 2024, 06:08 Updated to 6.0.229. Only obvious thing I noticed was that the stats on the hardware update. Now can see fan speed and HDD temps again.
Tried to update of HDD from 12tb to 18tb again and still not attempting to rebuild the traid. I did confirm this drive is good by installing in my computer and formatting and doing file transfers.
Not sure if the mods can elaborate on what changes were made in the updates?
A) it is first rebuilding /dev/md8 and /dev/md9 (raid of the OS itself and swap area)
B) Mine was stuck with the lvm cache trying to flush and the rebuild was stuck
C) after reboot everything started working again. Rebuilding is progressing and lvm cache flushing

Next issues:
1. Logout after timeout despite of checkbox "Stay logged in"
2. UPS Powercom Imperial. Cannot detect UPS by USB but disconnecting USB cable leads to log message "The NAS has been diconnected from the UPS"

This seem to happen if you update from 5 to 6, as a fresh install of version 6 don't tag the drive as RISKjpeckinp wrote: ↑29 Mar 2024, 12:01 Is anyone else getting SMART error 188 Command Timeout on all their HDD's? My SSD system drive is the only one that shows as good. I have two that show 100 -98 and one 100-93.
Newest update 6.0.217 but was seeing it on first version also.
F4-424 Pro with 2x 12TB Seagate IronWolf HDD and a 20TB Seagate IronWolf. 1TB Samsung 860QVO as my system drive.
But TerraMaster staff don't seem to understand and continu to tell me the problem is my drive,
i have RESET everything, new install of TOS5 (all my drive are tag as good) i upgrade to tos6 the SAME drive are tag as RISK
Re: The TOS 6 Beta Is Now Available for Public Testing
Hi, I have 2 questions...
1. How i can setup bridge mode on 2 ethernet ports, how does it work on qnap?
2. Anybody test hyper cache? Now I'm getting mixed results in both modes of operation. The copying speed is less than without hyper cache.

I upgraded from TOS 5 to TOS 6 and now two of my brand new IronWolf drives are showing with warnings. I've tested the drives separately with SeaTools and they have zero issues.versatilis wrote: ↑08 May 2024, 21:57This seem to happen if you update from 5 to 6, as a fresh install of version 6 don't tag the drive as RISKjpeckinp wrote: ↑29 Mar 2024, 12:01 Is anyone else getting SMART error 188 Command Timeout on all their HDD's? The same issue with 2 Barracuda ST4000DM005DigitalAnalog wrote: ↑13 May 2024, 07:45 I upgraded from TOS 5 to TOS 6 and now two of my brand new IronWolf drives are showing with warnings. I've tested the drives separately with SeaTools and they have zero issues.
One of the drives after update to 6 became dead after power failure and was swapped to the new one. The new drive is working and marked as "Good", the old one is working too but is marked "In risk" with "Command timeout" in SMART
Re: The TOS 6 Beta Is Now Available for Public Testing
TOS6 has added a new alert for SMART indicators, so you need to keep an eye on the status of your hard disk when the indicator exceeds the normal value.
For the disk that shows "Risk", you can try to use "Benchmark", "Bad Block Scan" or connect it to your PC to test the hard disk with third-party professional hard disk tools.

Can we turn off this 'new alert' ? (Or can it be disabled otherwise?)
