F4-210 4.2.44 , 18 TB ext4 HDD Sleep > without function

Post by daphill »

Hi,

18TB HDD, ext.4, SMB Service only, but..... no Standby.

In 2020, the topic was “Hibernation not working?” that Terramaster is also working on adding shorter standby times. 4.2.44 is “Current”... and obviously nothing has changed in this regard. Why has the topic been closed at all? It is obviously a problem. Is it not possible to add a kind of standby button in the UI, just to see if it works at all. How can I send the device to standby without having to use the interface? Is there a place where you can download ALL old TOS versions?

It can be reproduced remotely. What can the user “really” do?

Thank You, by

Couldn't there be a function that the entire NAS goes into standby / shutdown after a “user-set time” in which the NAS is not accessed? I'm not talking about fixed times! E.g. like the Wlan power saving function of a router in which you can, in addition to entering the time, only switch off when no device is using Wlan. Like with a standard TV or AVR receiver? Is it possible to shut down the NAS using a minitool or similar?

Hello, you can set the scheduled power on and off in Control Panel > General Settings > Hardware and Power > On/off schedule. In addition, you can install TNAS Mobile and shut down the NAS through your mobile phone.

Sorry, it has been confirmed that the old TNAS mobile does not have an on/off function, while the new TNAS mobile is not compatible with your device。
You can also achieve this by logging into the TOS webpage through your mobile browser。
Regarding the non hibernation of the hard drive, this may help you troubleshoot the issue:

Somehow all very impractical. The shutdown button on a mobile browser is more than tediously small to use. Is it possible to publish a NAS app that enables a shutdown button on the WebUi, perhaps in conjunction with a timer? These are the little things ... .

Creating something special that, apparently, only one user finds interesting on a system version that is being superceeded does not seem to be a likely candidate or cost effective to implement.
