Forgot to add that IronWolf Health Management says healthy.jpeckinp wrote: ↑29 Mar 2024, 12:01 Is anyone else getting SMART error 188 Command Timeout on all their HDD's? My SSD system drive is the only one that shows as good. I have two that show 100 -98 and one 100-93.
Newest update 6.0.217 but was seeing it on first version also.

Re: The TOS 6 Beta Is Now Available for Public Testing
Hi, my initial comments after successfully updating:
a. T12-450, took less than 20 minutes
b. F5-221, took less than 30 minutes
0. Initially, the update did not work. Shut down and restarted the 2 devices and worked smoothly.
1. Updated OS (TOS) from 5.1.67 to 5.1.123 using this file https://download3.terra-master.com/TOS% ... 180840.bz2
2. Updated OS (TOS) From 5.1.123 to 6.0.217 using this file https://download3.terra-master.com/TOS% ... 280301.bz2
T12-450 and F5-221
- Scheduled tasks are there
- File manager is way better than previous versions (reason enough to update the OS/TOS)
- Moving files is more clear (still missing a"move to" command, but you can cut and paste)
- My 2 cents, can you please add "estimated time" to the window above or email alert when the task is finished, thanks
- File manager still works in a single window (I was not able to open 2x file managers to drag and drop files between folders)
- I do not recall this "+ Location" option in File manager. This is great adittion. T12-450
- Plex did not start automatically, restarted the NAS and pressed "enable" 3 times. Now is working
- Could not find terramaster photos on 5.1.67. Now visible and installed in 5.1.123
F5-221
- I had Terra Photos, once the update was complete. An icon appear aat the top bar with the option to update Terra Photos. Super easy.
- Kavita = no issues
- I did not have Plex installed. Sorry, no comments here.

This could be down to a cabling or other hardware issue and not necessarily the drive itself. (Based on what I have read about it.)jpeckinp wrote: ↑29 Mar 2024, 12:01 Is anyone else getting SMART error 188 Command Timeout on all their HDD's? Re: The TOS 6 Beta Is Now Available for Public Testing
Hard drives and SSDs use S.M.A.R.T. (Self-Monitoring, Analysis, and Reporting Technology) to gauge their own reliability and determine if they're failing. It should be unrelated to other hardware apart from the hard drive itself.

No cables in the F4-424 Pro, so that rules that out.Gremlin wrote: ↑29 Mar 2024, 18:01This could be down to a cabling or other hardware issue and not necessarily the drive itself. I find it odd that this error only showed up after the 6.0 update.
Re: The TOS 6 Beta Is Now Available for Public Testing
When updating to TOS6, a warning about the status of the hard disk appears. There is no such problem when working on TOS5. The Command_Timeout warning is related to the SMART field, and as I noticed, this error started appearing just when updating to TOS6. Since I am not the only one with such warnings, I ask you to look into this problem. Could the TOS6 update somehow affect the operation of the hard drive? After all, I had no problems with Command_Timeout before the update

Re: The TOS 6 Beta Is Now Available for Public Testing
Several critical parameters for measuring disk health have been newly added to TOS 6, including this command timeout.

Re: The TOS 6 Beta Is Now Available for Public Testing
Please provide a changelog with details of these new parameters as well as fixes and general updates.
Why doesn't Terra-Master just be transparent about these things?
Getting details always feel like it's pulling teeth with your company.
Re: The TOS 6 Beta Is Now Available for Public Testing
But not, apparently for all drive makes. I'm not sure how a parameter can be classified as 'critical' if a drive manufacturer does not cite it in smart data.
I don't get it.
