Boot from external USB without removing internal USB TOS drive

Post by DigitalAnalog »

Hi - as the subject says, I'm just looking for a way to boot from an external USB drive without having to open up the system and remove the internal USB TOS bootloader. Can I just hook up my F4-423 to an HDMI monitor and keyboard and go into the BIOS and modify the boot sequence? If it helps I'm planning on booting to a live ISO of GPARTED. Thank you.

Some TNAS bios systems will allow modifying boot order. Others don't. There is a thread somewhere on here showing how to modify certain bios systems to allow changing boot order (new bios file). Some users are just stuck with what they have as it seems alternative bios files are not available.

Thank you - yes I've seen that thread. It's a bit unfortunate that TerraMaster hardware is great for tinkering, but at the same time so hard to tinker with. :)
