New to this whole NAS thing...very impressed by it...its all going to so much nicer the running things thru a Apple Mini Server!
With that said, as I set things up and load the NAS. is there anyway to attach to the NAS the USB drive with all my data so I can transfer it onto the NAS? Currently I seem to only be able to connect it to a computer and then transfer it from the computer into the NAS. As slow, but possible solution.
When I plug the USB drive into the NAS it only wants to use it for storage and does not recognize the files I have on the drive.
Have a F4-423

David

How was your USB drive used before? What file system was it?

What kind of USB drive? did you build any RAID configuration inside your USB?

Re: Transfer data from USB Drive to NAS
My drive I want to copy files from is just an external drive formatted APFS for Macs.
From other posts on this tread it sounds like NTFS also doesn't let you copy files off the drive when using the USB ports.
Sounding like the USB is only to add storage and let you back up your NAS.
