Plex can't claim server after last update

Post by Dromp »

TOS 5.1
Nas F5-221

After last update I can't claim the server.

Tryied with no avail:
- Reseting cache from the browser and loging in with a diff account/browser
- Removing data from Preferences.xml
- Tryied the github reclaim script: https://github.com/uglymagoo/plex-claim-server
- Uninstalled and deleted the plex folder with all its data, Reinstalled it.

In inspector i get
http://127.0.0.1:32400/?X-Plex-Product=...... net::ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED

I understand you're facing trouble claiming your Plex server on TOS 5.1 after updating your TerraMaster F5-221 NAS. It's frustrating to hit a roadblock after trying multiple solutions. Let's explore some additional ways to get your server claimed:

1. Check Firewall & Permissions:

Temporarily disable the NAS firewall or any Plex-specific firewall rules to see if it allows communication.
Ensure Plex has all necessary permissions to access network resources and the internet.
2. Network and Port Forwarding:

Verify your device is connected to the same network as the server.
Double-check if port 32400 is forwarded to the internal IP of your NAS where Plex runs.
3. Plex Media Server Service:

Confirm the Plex Media Server service is running properly on your NAS.
Try restarting the service or restarting the entire NAS to see if it resolves the issue.
4. Alternative Claim Methods:

If the web UI claim fails, try claiming through the Plex Media Server app on another device like a phone or tablet.
Look for alternative claim methods provided by TerraMaster or Plex documentation specific to your NAS model.
5. Deeper Troubleshooting:

Check NAS logs for any Plex-related errors or warnings that might provide clues.
Consider seeking help on TerraMaster or Plex forums where others might have encountered similar issues and solutions.
Remember to carefully revert any temporary firewall changes or network settings after troubleshooting.

By checking these points and exploring alternative options, hopefully you can overcome this server claim hurdle and get back to enjoying your Plex media!
