connecting to a virtual server

Post by Mrlucky »

Hello, I'll tell you about my problem. We bought a u8-423 in our small organization, I mounted RAID6, created a volume and want to connect it to a virtual server as a virtual disk, but how do I do this? Can I get step-by-step instructions?

If you want to mount a virtual disk server, you can go to the Virtual Disk module in the TOS control panel to mount it. Click Create and fill in the virtual disk server address to get the mount list.
If you want another device to mount the virtual disk created on TNAS, you need to go to TOS app center to install iSCSI Manager, then create iSCSI Tartget and iSCSI LUN, once created, you can mount it from another device.

Do I understand correctly that the virtual disk server in this case will be my TNAS? at the moment, I can't enter anything except ip in the "Virtual Disk" module, and I don't see any applications in the application center, could this be due to the fact that TNAS is not connected to the Internet?

Yes, storing data to TNAS via virtual disk is treating TNAS as an iSCSI server. You can install the app manually when there is no network,

Thanks for the link, but why can't I mount a virtual disk in TNAS? I can only enter the IP in the "Virtual Disk" module, other parameters: port 3260, etc. I cannot enter...
