TNAS does not respond outside LAN

Post by mightymouse »

My TNAS is on IP: 10.10.10.[IP]. It works exactly as it should for all computers on the same subnet (10.10.10.[IP]) but stopped accepting connections from other local subnets example (10.10.40.[IPs]) when it worked fine before. Nothing has changed firewall wise and I can access other subnet 10 devices from subnet 40 as expected.

Before the problem, I tried bonding the two LAN ports together but decided to remove the bond and go back to normal connections. Any ideas on what the problem may be and how to fix it?

Why would you expect that? Is this a business set up?

This is how how I have my network set up (I do it correctly with VLANS) and it was working exactly how it should before. Now it just say TOS Loading and hangs there. A new interface is now also appearing in addition to LAN1 & LAN2 (see screenshot) so there's certainly something not right the the network config of the NAS. Is there an easy way to restore the Network setup back to "factory" defaults without having to reinstall TOS?

Not sure which device you have? how many ethernet ports? When you set up bonded link did you assign fixed IP? Sorry for questions, but not seen this myself so curious. Suggestion at this point might be to reconnect LAN2, reform bond without fixed ip and then try deleting it again.

Hi, thanks for your reply. The good news is that I've managed to fix it now. Not exactly sure how but won't mess with it further :-)

I've got a T6-423 which comes with 2 LAN ports. I've been playing with bonding them to get a 2GBit connection (My ethernet ports on the switch are only 1GBps) instead of just the 1Gbit but I'm starting to think I should consider changing the NAS to one which comes with an SFP+ port and just go with a 10GBit fibre connection which my switch also supports.
