F5-442 Locks Up During File Saving

Post by JGHammell »

The unit runs perfectly for several hours but after copying files onto it for some time, the share in Windows shows a red cross and it is no longer accessible. The network light on the unit and switch still flash but there is no access, and trying to switch it off in the usual way doesn't work. Only way is to hold the power button down until it switches off. You can then power it on and it runs for another 5 to 10 hours saving files then the same happens again.

There is no such TNAS model named F5-442, are you referring to F5-422?
Based on the situation you described, we found that it is highly consistent with a certain feedback situation.
Please try to turn off other high occupancy features such as media indexing that may be enabled while transmitting.
If you are using a BTRFS file system volume, please try logging in to SSH/Telnet or connecting TNAS to an HDMI monitor and keyboard, and enter the following command to disable a BTRFS option to reduce its excessive usage.(If you have multiple volumes, please set each volume once.)
TOS5:

Code: Select all

btrfs quota disable /Volume1
TOS4:

Code: Select all

btrfs quota disable /mnt/md0
